Optical Measurement Technology for Spray Research
ai-quanton GmbH develops optical measurement technology for sprays, droplets and particles. We build measurement hardware and develop software, combining physical measurement methods with modern data analysis.
This combination allows us to propose solutions for specific tasks in spray research—from adapting a measurement probe to developing software for a particular experiment.
Hardware and Software Developed Together
A measurement system must fit both the experiment and the information the user needs. We therefore consider optical detection, electronics, data acquisition and software as parts of one system.
Depending on the application, we can adapt probe geometry, working distance, detector configuration, mechanical integration and data interfaces. Our software supports measurement, visualization and further analysis of the recorded data.

Our Company Name Since 2013
ai-quanton GmbH was officially registered under this exact name in 2013. Our interest in applying AI to spray measurement dates back to this early period of the company’s development.
Team and Expertise
Connecting Physics and Engineering
Our work brings together optics, physics, electronics, software development and experimental research. These disciplines contribute to different stages of a measurement: generating a useful signal, recording it, interpreting it and presenting the result.
Optical Sensors and Measurement Hardware
Our hardware work includes optical probes, measurement electronics and data acquisition. We develop the physical components needed to investigate droplets and particles under different measurement conditions.
Software and Data Analysis
Our software work covers signal processing, machine learning, visualization and user interfaces. We connect the analysis method with the way users operate the instrument and interpret its output.
Experimental Research
Measurements with real sprays are central to our development work. They help us assess whether a method provides useful information under the conditions of the intended application.
Partners and Collaborations
Working with Research and Industry
ai-quanton collaborates with universities, research institutes and industrial organisations on optical measurement applications.
Joint experiments connect method development with practical measurement conditions. Publications and conference contributions provide a way to share and discuss the findings.

Collaboration Around Your Application
We welcome discussions with researchers, equipment developers and industrial teams working on specific spray measurement challenges.
Possible starting points include a new experimental setup, a measurement task that requires adapted hardware, or a need for specialised data analysis.
Discuss Your Measurement Application
Tell us what you want to measure, which spray or material you work with, and how the instrument should fit into your setup.
